In Sancti Spíritus, a lack of fuel to transport bird feed has worsened the state poultry production crisis, halting announced egg sales to the population. Only some residents in one neighborhood received them. The poultry company director said production has halved.
The crisis in Sancti Spíritus's state poultry production has deepened due to a fuel shortage for transporting feed from ports, limiting bird feeding and egg output, as reported by official media like Escambray. Provincial Poultry Company director Félix Manuel Rodríguez González stated that this halves production levels, with about 15,000 eggs daily going only to prioritized uses such as hospitals, nursing homes, maternity centers, and foreign-currency stores.
