Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Monday, April 13, 2026, local time in the afternoon. The bilateral meeting lasted two hours, followed by three hours of one-on-one discussions, totaling five hours.
The leaders agreed on long-term cooperation points in the ESDM sector, including oil and gas energy resilience and downstreaming. They also reaffirmed commitments to continue partnerships in education, technology research, agriculture, investment, and industrial development in Indonesia.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated, “Several points were agreed upon, including long-term cooperation in the ESDM sector, encompassing oil and gas energy resilience and downstreaming.” He added, “Continuity of several cooperations in education and technology research, agriculture, and investments in various sectors, especially industrial development in Indonesia.”
Teddy highlighted Russia's strategic position as a UN Security Council veto holder, BRICS founder, and possessor of the world's largest natural resources. This meeting marks the fifth encounter in the past year, following their last one in Moscow last December.
