President Prabowo Subianto received former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his family at his private residence on Jalan Kertanegara in Jakarta on Wednesday night, 8 July 2026.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the meeting took place in a warm and intimate atmosphere. He added that the relaxed setting served as a moment to strengthen the long-standing friendship between the two figures.
During the meeting, Prabowo and Thaksin exchanged views on strategic global developments and regional dynamics. Thaksin was accompanied by his daughter, Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Teddy noted that the meeting also reinforced Indonesia's friendship network with world figures. Thaksin currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board of the Danantara Investment Management Agency.
