Electronic musician Pretty Lights has revealed his first studio album since 2013. The 45-song project titled A Trip Thru Time Fantastic arrives in sections, with the initial portion available now for free.
The artist, born Derrick Vincent Smith, shared the news on social media July 1. The album marks his fifth studio release and follows 2013's A Color Map of the Sun.
Its 45 tracks are grouped into nine sections referred to as constellations. The first three constellations, totaling 15 songs, can be streamed and downloaded without charge from the artist's website.
Smith described the project as the result of years spent exploring creative systems and personal milestones, including the birth of his son Ayahn. A supporting seven-city tour is planned for summer and fall, featuring appearances at Secret Dreams Music Festival, the second edition of Yahn Dawn Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado, and Hulaween in Florida.
