Pure Padel to open Scotland's largest club at The Forge

The Forge Shopping Centre in Parkhead has announced the arrival of Pure Padel, the UK's fastest growing padel club. Set to launch in May 2026, the facility will feature 10 indoor courts and additional amenities. This development underscores the centre's shift toward a multi-purpose destination with enhanced leisure options.

The Forge Shopping Centre in Parkhead is expanding its leisure offerings with the introduction of Pure Padel, marking a significant step in its evolution. Scheduled to open in May 2026, the indoor facility will be Scotland's largest padel club, equipped with 10 courts, a cafe and bar, a sports lounge, and social spaces. This addition aims to create a year-round hub for sports, leisure, and community engagement in Glasgow's East End.

Padel's rising popularity has driven Pure Padel's expansion, with the company already operating six successful clubs across the UK. The choice of The Forge highlights the centre's appeal to operators seeking accessible, prominent locations. The club will provide world-class courts, professional coaching, and an inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels.

Liam Banks-Carr, marketing manager of Pure Padel, expressed enthusiasm: “We’re super excited to be involved with the growth of The Forge. With 6 successful clubs already open across the UK, we can’t wait to deliver a world class sporting experience to Glasgow’s East End. Padel is the world’s fastest-growing sport and is a great way to socialise, connect and compete. We look forward to pushing the growth of the sport in Glasgow and working with the local community.”

The lease was secured by commercial property agents Orinsen, amid ongoing positive activity at the centre. Recent developments include new tenants like Wed2B bridal retailer and Kally’s Hair, alongside Savers expanding its store. Long-standing occupiers such as Costa, Blue Sky Mobility, and The Perfume Shop have renewed their leases.

Jodi Robertson, marketing coordinator at The Forge, welcomed the news: “We are incredibly excited to welcome Pure Padel to The Forge. This is a fantastic addition to the centre and reflects our ambition to offer high-quality leisure experiences that can be enjoyed by our local community, whether with friends, family or colleagues.”

Anna Hansen, director at Orinsen, noted: “The arrival of Pure Padel marks an exciting chapter for The Forge Shopping Centre. Alongside new lettings, upsizes and lease renewals, this deal demonstrates the strong level of occupier demand we are seeing and our ongoing commitment to building a vibrant, resilient destination that meets the needs of both retailers and the local community.”

Further opportunities are anticipated, positioning The Forge as a key retail and leisure hub for Parkhead and greater Glasgow into 2026.
