Netflix has scheduled the eight-episode second season of Ransom Canyon to premiere on Thursday, July 23. The drama picks up six months after the first season, focusing on rancher Staten Kirkland's fight to reclaim his family's ranch and musician Quinn O'Grady's dilemma between small-town life and New York City. Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly return as the leads, joined by new cast members.
Ransom Canyon Season 2 will stream on Netflix starting July 23, TVLine has learned. Set in Texas Hill Country, the series continues with Staten Kirkland, played by Josh Duhamel, unseated as trustee of the Double K Ranch and battling to restore his legacy. Meanwhile, Minka Kelly's Quinn O'Grady returns from New York with a new mission, as showrunner April Blair explained to TVLine: “Quinn has spent a lot of her past trying to save other people, and she comes back changed by this experience. Season 2 for her is really about saving herself and doing what's right for her.” Quinn's challenges include the arrival of her mother, Claire O'Grady, portrayed by Patricia Clarkson. Returning cast members include Lizzy Greene as Lauren Brigman, Garrett Wareing as Lucas Russell, Jack Schumacher as Yancy Grey, Marianly Tejada as Ellie Estevez, Casey W. Johnson as Kit, Tatanka Means as Jake Longbow, Niko Guardado as Tim O'Grady, Brett Cullen as Sam Kirkland, Jennifer Ens as Ashley, and Justin Johnson Cortez as Kai Flores. New additions feature Steve Howey as Staten's half-brother Levi, along with Heidi Engerman, Ben Robson, and Philip Winchester. Two Season 1 actors, Eoin Macken as Davis and Andrew Liner as Reid, will not return. First-look photos highlight key moments, such as Quinn's return, Lauren and Lucas navigating their futures, and tensions between Staten and his half-brother. The season explores whether Staten and Quinn are star-crossed lovers or fated to be together amid messy romances.
