Rocky Romero has emphasized the importance of the partnership between All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling amid competition from WWE. Speaking to Fox News ahead of NJPW's The New Beginning USA event, Romero described the collaboration as strategic and beneficial for fans. He also announced his re-signing with New Japan.
As New Japan Pro-Wrestling approaches its The New Beginning USA event in Trenton, New Jersey, on February 27, Rocky Romero has been promoting the show through media appearances. In an interview with Fox News, Romero discussed the ongoing partnership between NJPW and All Elite Wrestling, calling it essential in the face of WWE's dominant market share.
Romero stated, “What’s cool about it is AEW, especially Tony Khan, has so much respect and so much love for New Japan and New Japan has always been supportive of AEW. I think it’s a partnership that really works and obviously it’s an essential partnership when you’re going against someone who has such a huge market share in WWE. So, I think it’s very strategic and now that we’ve thrown CMLL into the mix, these three big promotions really working fluidly together and working on storylines that cross all three promotions and having talent go from each company and champions. I think the people who make out the most in this are fans because the fans get to see these dream matches and these dream situations. I think the fans are the ones who are winning the most on this.”
The partnership involves mutual respect and support, with recent inclusion of CMLL enabling cross-promotional storylines and talent exchanges. Romero noted that fans benefit most from dream matches and scenarios. During the same media tour, Romero revealed that he has re-signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
