Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 81, has been hospitalized in Florida and is in “critical but stable” condition, according to a statement from his spokesman on Sunday. Former President Donald Trump posted a message of support on Truth Social. No cause for the hospitalization has been disclosed.

Ted Goodman, Giuliani’s spokesman, said he would not provide details about what led to the hospitalization or how long Giuliani has been hospitalized.
In a statement posted on social media, Goodman said:
“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak. We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani.”
Donald Trump, Giuliani’s longtime ally and former client, also responded on Sunday in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, writing that Giuliani “has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition,” and adding political commentary.
Giuliani is widely associated with the nickname “America’s mayor,” a label that became prominent after his leadership role during and after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in New York.
In recent years, Giuliani served as a personal attorney to Trump and promoted allegations of fraud in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Courts rejected those allegations in numerous lawsuits, and recounts, reviews and audits did not find evidence of widespread fraud that would have changed the result.
Giuliani was previously hospitalized in September 2025 after suffering injuries including a fractured vertebra in a car crash in New Hampshire, according to reporting at the time.
