Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has completed his first month in office since taking oath on April 15, announcing reforms in infrastructure, education, and women's safety.
Samrat Choudhary, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader, assumed the role of Bihar Chief Minister on April 15. His government has prepared a blueprint for 11 satellite townships across 10 districts, including plans to include Sasaram, to promote planned development and ease urban pressure.
The administration launched the Police Didi Scheme, procuring 1,500 scooters for women police personnel to be deployed near schools and colleges. It also introduced Sahyog Ki Triveni, a three-tier support system with helpline 1100, an online portal, and panchayat-level camps starting May 19 to address public complaints within 30 days.
In education, the government approved ₹800 crore for model schools and ₹104 crore to establish degree colleges in 208 blocks, creating 9,152 new positions. It also amended rules for private schools to ensure fee transparency and amended the Bihar Public Works Code to prioritize local contractors for projects up to ₹50 crore.
A paperless e-registration system for land and property was introduced, with home services for citizens above 80 years. The government has directed zero tolerance toward crime.
