On Sunday, May 10, President Pedro Sánchez and candidate María Jesús Montero held a rally in La Línea de la Concepción (Cádiz) focused on drug trafficking and PP corruption. At the same time, Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla held an event in Málaga blaming the government for the deaths of two civil guards.
At the rally in La Línea, Sánchez defended Interior Minister Grande-Marlaska's plan to increase agents against drug trafficking in the Campo de Gibraltar. Montero directly linked PP corruption to drug trafficking, citing cases in Almería and Marbella, as well as Feijóo's photo with Marcial Dorado.
Montero criticized Moreno for a video about the deceased agents and for downplaying electoral debates. She also addressed the decline in public healthcare, accusing the regional government of favoring private healthcare.
In Málaga, Feijóo and Moreno demanded accountability from the government for not attending the funeral of the two civil guards who died on Friday in Huelva during a pursuit of a drug boat. Moreno called for more resources to combat drug trafficking and a stable majority in the May 17 elections.
