The São Paulo capital recorded 1,089 km of slow traffic at 7:20 p.m. on Friday (19), shortly before the Brazilian national team’s match against Haiti in the 2026 World Cup.
Data from the Traffic Engineering Company (CET) showed congestion concentrated mainly in the south zone, with 291 km of slow traffic, followed by the east zone (276 km) and west zone (246 km).
The index rose throughout the afternoon and reached peaks above 1,000 km, with the highest recorded at 6:30 p.m. at 1,154 km. In the morning, traffic was lighter, with only 285 km of slow traffic at 7:30 a.m.
The national team match, coached by Carlos Ancelotti, was scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Brazil faces Scotland next Wednesday (24) at 7 p.m.
