Sävehof's women's handball team has won its 18th Swedish championship title. The team defeated Skara 3–0 in matches after a decisive final that required double overtime.
Sävehof claimed the title by dominating the regular season and then winning nine straight playoff matches. In the final series against Skara the first two matches ended 25–22 and 30–27.
The third final proved dramatic. Sävehof led by six goals at halftime but Skara equalized late and forced overtime. The match required double overtime before Sävehof won 29–28.
Icelandic player Elín Klara Thorkelsdóttir became the hero with eight goals. Sävehof's Stina Wikfors told SVT it was completely crazy to win that way with two overtimes.
