Secure A Bike relaunches motorcycle storage sheds

Secure A Bike, a British company, has rebooted operations to offer compact steel sheds for urban motorcyclists lacking garage space. The product aims to protect bikes from weather and theft in high-crime areas. Prices for the two available models range from £2,799 to £2,950.

Urban motorcyclists often face challenges in securing their bikes without a dedicated garage or shed, leaving machines vulnerable to theft and the elements. Secure A Bike, also known as SAB Motorcycle Storage, addresses this issue with its relaunched mini-shed solution. The company, which had previously gone bust, resumed operations a few months ago and now markets two versions of the product.

Constructed from 1.5mm steel panels that are laser-cut and folded, the sheds feature edges designed to repel water and resist break-ins. Reinforced doors with internal hinges add further security, while the powder-coated exterior helps prevent rust and corrosion. Inside, there is sufficient space to accommodate most motorcycles.

A key feature is the integrated support trolley, where the bike's front wheel is placed and clamped to remain upright without needing a kickstand. The trolley runs on wheels, allowing easy sliding of the bike into the shed. Manufacturers claim that securing the front wheel to the trolley with a chain makes it impossible to remove the bike once locked.

The door employs a six-lever, four-pin deadlock made of hardened steel, intended to be resistant to drilling and picking. While the company emphasizes these anti-theft measures, the product is not claimed to be entirely theft-proof; instead, it aims to deter thieves by complicating and delaying attempts.

Priced at £2,799 to £2,950—or approximately $3,800 to $4,000 USD—the sheds provide an alternative to relying solely on insurance, which covers losses but does not prevent theft. More details on the models are available on the company's website.
