A ship carrying 2,010 tons of phosphoric acid from the port of Ashdod in Israel is due to arrive at the Port of Cartagena at 22:00 this Thursday.
The BDS Murcia movement claims the cargo originates from the occupied Palestinian territory of Negev and could fall under the embargo set out in Real Decreto Ley 10/2025.
The Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia has stated that the ship's documentation will be requested and the corresponding protocol applied. If the load falls within the urgent measures decree against the genocide in Gaza, action will be taken accordingly.
Groups including BDS, PLRM and Extinction Rebellion have called a protest for Friday 19 June at 17:00 on the port's Explanada. Podemos secretary general Ione Belarra has called on X for all ties with those she holds responsible for the conflict to be severed.
