Sindh secures both men's and women's titles in national padel championship

The National Padel Championship 2026 wrapped up in Karachi with Team Sindh dominating both categories. In the women's final, Sindh (MUV) defeated the Punjab Team 2-0, while the men's final saw Sindh Team beat Sindh Padel-X by the same score. The event highlighted the growing popularity of padel in Pakistan.

Held at Neo Maidan in Karachi, the National Padel Championship 2026 drew players from across Pakistan, organized by the Pakistan Padel Federation under the International Padel Federation, alongside the Sindh Padel Association and local hosts. A total of 26 women and 66 men competed, showcasing improved skills and sportsmanship in the sport.

In the women's category, Sindh (MUV), represented by Natalia Zaman and Mehak Tehrani, claimed first place after a 2-0 victory over the Punjab Team of Saimra Umer and Hasnat. Third place went to Sindh (M&A) with Alisha Elhai and Musfira Zahid. The men's division featured an all-Sindh final, where Rehan Abdullah and Nafees Yaqoob of the Sindh Team triumphed 2-0 against Sheroz and Rahim Saeed of Sindh Padel-X. Team Sindh King, with Rayyan Younas and Saad Noman, took bronze.

Muhammad Mateen, president of the Pakistan Padel Federation, served as chief guest at the closing ceremony, handing out trophies, certificates, and cash prizes worth PKR 500,000. Other officials present included Vice Presidents Danish Ahmed and Syed Rehanuddin, Sindh Padel Association Secretary General Syed Nadeem Uddin, and Treasurer Karima Khan. The federation praised all participants and partners for contributing to the event's success, underscoring padel's rising status in the country.
