Snakes on a plane limited edition 4K blu-ray now 50% off for preorder

Arrow Video has discounted the preorder price of its Snakes on a Plane Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray to $25 from $50, ahead of the January 20 release. The set commemorates the film's 20th anniversary with a new 4K restoration and various collectibles. It includes extensive bonus features exploring the movie's production and cultural impact.

The cult classic Snakes on a Plane, starring Samuel L. Jackson as an FBI agent escorting a witness from Hawaii to Los Angeles, faces chaos when venomous snakes are unleashed on the flight. Released two decades ago, the over-the-top action thriller earned about $62 million at the box office and has maintained a dedicated following.

To mark the anniversary, Arrow Video offers a Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray bundle, now available for preorder at half price during a sale on Amazon. The package features a brand-new 4K restoration by Arrow Films, renowned for quality remasters, alongside a 1080p Blu-ray disc. It supports Dolby Vision for visuals but uses the original DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio track, without Dolby Atmos.

Collectible items enhance the appeal: a South Pacific Airlines safety instruction card, a reversible sleeve with dual artwork options, and a booklet containing new essays by Daniel Burnett and Charlie Brigden.

Bonus content is extensive, including a fresh audio commentary by critics Max Evry and Bryan Reesman, plus an archival commentary with director David R. Ellis, Jackson, and other crew members. Additional features cover the novelization in 'Snakes on a Page,' snake wrangling in 'Meet the Reptiles,' CGI effects, online hype, a music video, gag reel, trailers, and more.

Arrow Video's sale also covers other upcoming 4K releases like Friday the 13th (2009) on February 3 and Excalibur on February 24, many at 50% off.
