Saber Interactive's new chief business officer has indicated that the long-delayed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake remains in development with a possible 2028 release.
Steve Allison, promoted to the role three days earlier, posted a message noting a busy 2028 schedule for the studio. "That includes Space Marine, [John] Wick, hopefully KOTOR Remake, and a few unannounced titles," he wrote.
The comment was shared on the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 subreddit before deletion and later verified by PC Gamer. Allison also stated that Saber Interactive has never pursued microtransactions in its products.
The remake was handed to Saber in 2022 after earlier work at Aspyr stalled. Fans have received only occasional assurances of its survival since then.
Allison's remarks provide the most specific timeline yet for the project.
