Legislative Council president Starry Lee Wai-king said the council may consider amending its code for members following the drink-driving case involving William Wong Kam-fai.
William Wong Kam-fai was arrested late last month on suspicion of drink-driving, careless driving and failing to stop and report an accident.
He resigned from the legislature on Friday amid the scandal. The university also suspended him from his administrative duties.
Starry Lee Wai-king said on Monday that lawmakers routinely review the code usually during the latter stage of the term. This incident will serve as an important reference if amendments are considered in the future.
