The State Council temporarily halted the transfer of the remaining resources under Decree 415 of 2026. Pension fund administrators were required to deliver 5 trillion pesos in the coming days, following an initial order of 25 trillion.
The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Colpensiones expressed deep concern. They stated that the suspension blocks pension payments to those who switched to the average premium regime and affects the sustainability of the system.
President Gustavo Petro said the court favors bankers and goes against workers' interests. He announced plans to file a criminal complaint for prevarication against magistrate Juan Enrique Bedoya Escobar.
Andrés Velasco, president of Asofondos, explained that the resources of 20,000 pensioners correspond to 5 trillion pesos. He noted that current contributors' payments exceed the cost of monthly benefits.
