Nuclear technology company Studsvik has submitted an application for state support to build reactors in Nyköping and Valdemarsvik. This is the third application for support for new nuclear power in Sweden.
The application means that negotiations now begin between the government and the company on the terms and scope of the support. The support will also be reviewed to ensure it complies with EU state aid rules.
Previous applications have come from Videberg Kraft in December last year for reactors at Väröhalvön outside Varberg. Blykalla applied earlier in June this year for support for a project at Norrsundet outside Gävle.
The government confirms that the process now moves forward with examination of the latest application.
