Talisman Design has revealed the PocketMage, an upcoming E Ink personal digital assistant with a wizard-themed interface. The clamshell device features a QWERTY keyboard and dual screens.
The PocketMage runs a proprietary operating system centered on wizard motifs. Users cast spells such as "Renamio" to rename files rather than using standard commands.
It includes a 3.1-inch 320 x 240 E Ink display for reading and writing alongside a thin OLED strip above the keyboard for quick menus. Additional features comprise a digital tarot deck, the dungeon-crawling game Mage's Descent, an ereader, text-based web browser, and calendar.
The device offers a microSD slot, scroll bar, USB-C charging, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a battery rated for about a week. It measures small enough to fit in pockets and comes in parchment white or royal purple.
Crowdfunding for the PocketMage has exceeded its goal. A kit version costs $185 while a preassembled unit is $235, with shipping scheduled for March 2027.
