Taylor Sheridan addressed criticism of his shows in a recent interview, stating he does not care what reviewers think. He also made clear that winning awards like Emmys is not among his objectives.
In an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Sheridan discussed his approach to storytelling. He recalled advising Demi Moore about her role in the Paramount+ series Landman, noting that critics would likely accuse him of underutilizing her before expanding her part in season two.
Sheridan described his relationship with critics as one of mutual disregard. He said he intentionally includes elements in his projects to provoke them and stated that his aim is to create content that engages everyday viewers rather than award voters.
The writer and producer has overseen several series under Paramount, including Yellowstone, which concluded its run in 2024. Spin-offs such as Marshals and Dutton Ranch have received recent renewals, while performers from his projects have earned recognition including a Golden Globe win for Kevin Costner.
