Korean drama Teach You a Lesson held the top spot on Netflix's weekly non-English shows chart for a second straight week. The series, released June 5, drew 21.1 million views in its second week.
Netflix said Wednesday the series took the No. 1 spot in 46 countries and regions, including South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Turkey and Brazil. It also reached the top 10 in 91 other places.
Based on the webtoon Get Schooled, the story follows inspectors at the Education Rights Protection Bureau. Education Minister Choi Gang-seok, played by Lee Sung-min, says the bureau exists "not to fight students but to fight monsters." Kim Mu-yeol, Jin Ki-joo and Pyo Ji-hoon, also known as P.O of Block B, star as the inspectors.
Another Korean drama, My Royal Nemesis, placed second with 2.7 million views. The Wonderfools ranked eighth. In films, K-pop Demon Hunters stayed in the English top 10 for a 52nd week, while Run to the West, the first AI-driven Korean feature film, took ninth among non-English movies with 1.1 million views.
