Tesla has launched the Model Y L, a longer-wheelbase six-seat version of its popular SUV, in the United States and Puerto Rico. The vehicle is available as a Launch Series starting at $61,990 with deliveries scheduled for September or October.
The Model Y L features a three-row seating layout with captain’s chairs in the second row and heated seats in the third row. It offers 325 miles of range and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Additional features include adaptive damping, upgraded acoustic glass, a 19-speaker audio system, and integrated Grok AI.
The Launch Series trim comes with extras such as special badging, puddle lights, suede dashboard inserts, floor mats, and sill plates. It also includes one year of Full Self-Driving Supervised capability. The vehicle measures about seven inches longer than the standard Model Y and provides 89 cubic feet of cargo space.
Tesla first introduced the Model Y L in China last year before expanding it to other markets. The US version fills a gap left after the company phased out the Model X earlier this year.
