Prominent fashion figures gathered in Brussels to mark the 40th anniversary of La Cambre Modes school. The event brought together alumni serving as a graduation jury for the latest student cohort.
The Show Off event at La Cambre combined a runway presentation for master's students with direct conversations between graduates and industry leaders. Held recently in the Belgian capital, it featured an intimate setup that encouraged extended discussions without distractions.
Alumni including Matthieu Blazy, Anthony Vaccarello, Olivier Theyskens, Marine Serre, and Julian Klausner joined the jury to honor longtime educator Tony Delcampe. Several participants highlighted the collaborative spirit and shared experiences from their time at the school.
La Cambre's five-year program emphasizes hands-on draping and material work over traditional sketching. Its low fees and selective intake have helped produce designers who now lead major houses such as Chanel and Saint Laurent.
Delcampe noted the school's focus on practical skills, stating that students learn to understand garments through direct construction rather than mood boards.
