U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated Lt. Gen. David Iverson to serve as deputy commander of U.S. Pacific Air Forces. The Pentagon announced the nomination on Monday.
The nomination assigns Iverson to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. Iverson has held senior positions in South Korea since January 2024. These roles include deputy commander of U.S. Forces Korea, commander of the Seventh Air Force, and commander of the Air Component Command under the South Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command. Last month Trump nominated Maj. Gen. David Shoemaker for promotion to lieutenant general and appointment as the next USFK deputy commander. The current nomination requires Senate confirmation. The Pentagon made the announcement in Washington on June 8.
