Central Industrial Security Force personnel detained two Bangladeshi nationals at Guwahati Airport on July 1 after finding forged Aadhaar cards and other documents during a security check.
The individuals, identified as Rana Molla and Mafuja Akhtar, were stopped at the new terminal of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport before boarding an Akasa Air flight to Mumbai. They were handed over to the Azara police station.
A police officer said investigators are examining their activities in India and possible links to networks involved in illegal cross-border movement. This marks the second such incident at the airport in less than two weeks.
On June 17, police arrested a 24-year-old woman who had arrived from Bengaluru and admitted to being a Bangladeshi national who entered India via Tripura with a fake Aadhaar card.
