Police confirmed that two deer which escaped from their enclosure at Taman Makam Pahlawan Kalibata have been secured. The incident went viral on social media after an amateur video circulated.
Kapolsek Pancoran Kompol Mansur stated that the two deer have now returned to the TMP Kalibata area in South Jakarta. A total of eight deer are kept at the site and two of them managed to get out.
The wooden enclosure door was damaged because it had become rotten. The deer kicked the door handle until it broke and jumped out. One deer suffered a minor leg injury from the door wood.
Mansur explained that guards were present on site but did not monitor the enclosure constantly as it was considered safe. No traffic accidents or casualties resulted from the incident.
