Two men were stabbed on May 27 at an LG Electronics office in western Seoul. The suspect, an employee of a partner company, is now in police custody.
According to police and firefighting officials, the victims, one in his 50s and the other in his 40s, were found with injuries to their arms and ribs on the second floor of the Magok business center in Gangseo Ward after a report was filed at 11:18 a.m. Both were taken to hospitals but were not in life-threatening condition.
The suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended near Digital Media City Station. He claimed to have been heading to a police station to turn himself in.
During interrogation, the suspect said he acted out of sudden anger after being notified of his dismissal that day. He alleged repeated harassment by the victims, but they denied the claims and said they had only asked the partner company head to reassign him due to workload issues.
Police are considering whether to seek an arrest warrant and said further investigation is needed to clarify the conflicting accounts.
