Victor Wembanyama delivered a historic performance to help the San Antonio Spurs defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 122-115 in double overtime during Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Monday. The 22-year-old posted 41 points and 24 rebounds in 49 minutes. His effort gave the Spurs a 1-0 series lead.
Wembanyama scored 41 points, grabbed 24 rebounds and added three blocks in the victory at Paycom Center. He became the youngest player in NBA history to record a 40-point, 20-rebound postseason game. The Spurs outlasted the reigning champions in the first double-overtime Western Conference Finals game since 1976.
