A Wyoming father was charged with misdemeanor child endangerment after police found his infant son locked inside a hot SUV on June 16.
Deputies from the Laramie County Sheriff's Office responded to a Cheyenne home shortly after 8:30 p.m. following a report of an impaired man preparing to drive with a child in the car.
Jhadon Robert Michael Curry repeatedly told officers that he had just put the baby to sleep inside the house. A search found only an empty crib, and the child was later discovered strapped into a rear-facing car seat in Curry's Cadillac Escalade.
The infant was sweating and crying, described as very hot to the touch. Curry expressed surprise upon seeing the child and continued to insist the baby was inside the home. The vehicle had been locked with windows up for just over 30 minutes while the outside temperature was around 75 degrees.
Curry has been charged with one count of misdemeanor child endangerment. His arraignment is scheduled for July 31.
