Josephine Scott, 75, was arrested after allegedly shooting her husband twice during an argument at their home in Timmonsville, South Carolina. Despite relying on an oxygen tank, she is accused of firing a gun at the man, striking him in both legs.
Deputies from the Florence County Sheriff's Office responded to the residence on June 27. The husband was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
Scott was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a crime. She was booked into the Florence County Detention Center on June 28 and appeared in court the next day, where her bond was set at $55,000. She posted the amount and was released.
Scott is scheduled to return to court on October 6. Police said the couple had argued before the shooting but provided no further details on the cause.
