Ludvig Åberg carded a 69, one under par, in the opening round of the US Open at Shinnecock Hills.
The Swede handled the difficult winds well during Thursday's round. He made three birdies and two bogeys on the course outside New York.
Åberg played alongside Rory McIlroy, who also finished one under par. They shared second place behind American Sam Stevens when they finished.
– It was a good day. I am pleased with how I scored above all, Åberg told Aftonbladet.
Alex Norén had a tougher time and finished four over par. The first round is still ongoing.
