Accuser in Ludwig Kaiser battery case retains attorney

The alleged victim in the battery case involving WWE star Ludwig Kaiser has hired an attorney ahead of a July pre-trial conference.

A Notice of Appearance was filed Thursday by attorney Darrin Chambers on behalf of the victim. Chambers, a United States Navy veteran at the NeJame Law Firm in Orlando, Florida, specializes in civil litigation and personal injury cases.

The filing comes before the pre-trial conference scheduled for July 16 in the case against Marcel Barthel, known professionally as Ludwig Kaiser. The conference will address whether the matter proceeds to trial or results in a plea agreement.

Barthel was arrested April 24 and charged with first-degree misdemeanor battery following an altercation at an Orlando apartment complex. He has pleaded not guilty and was released on a $1,000 bond paid by fellow wrestler Gunther.

The incident began in an elevator after the victim asked Barthel to show manners while displaying affection toward his girlfriend, Andrea Bazarte. The victim alleges Barthel attacked him afterward, causing a visible scratch and redness on his head.
