Chris Brown pleads guilty to affray in London attack

Chris Brown changed his plea to guilty on a 2023 nightclub assault charge, with sentencing set for October. The move came during a hearing at Southwark Crown Court on July 24.

The 37-year-old singer admitted affray at London’s Southwark Crown Court after prosecutors dropped more serious charges of grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon. His friend and vocal coach Omolulu Akinlolu, who performs as Hoody Baby, also pleaded guilty to affray.

Court details showed Brown struck music producer Abraham Diaw twice over the head with a glass bottle at Tape Club in Mayfair in 2023. Akinlolu allegedly punched the victim, who ended up at St Mary’s Hospital with head and knee injuries.

Both men were bailed and must return for sentencing on October 26. Detective Constable Zara Ripamonti called the incident a “disgraceful, unprovoked assault.”

Brown, who had joked about jail time on his Breezy Bowl tour last year, must return to the UK by October 25 under bail terms. So… will the October hearing finally close this chapter?
