A federal judge has dismissed all 18 claims in Dawn Richard’s lawsuit against Sean Combs. One count may be refiled in state court.
U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla issued the ruling on June 12. The decision dismissed the case in part because most claims fell outside the statute of limitations.
Richard filed the suit in September 2024. She alleged sexual abuse and breach of contract by Combs during her time with Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money.
Richard’s lawyer Arick Fudali said the team plans to refile the primary claim under New York City’s gender-motivated violence law. A Combs representative noted that allegations are not findings and that courts evaluate claims under legal standards.
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after his September 2024 arrest. His release is set for late February 2028.
