In Pitalito's La Galería neighborhood, a man known as alias ‘Rayo’ threatened a citizen with a bladed weapon to steal a cell phone and a watch worth over two million pesos, according to preliminary information from the Huila Police Department.
Right after the incident, police units launched a search operation with patrol cars and the UNIPOL group, enabling them to locate and arrest the alleged perpetrator in the act.
During the procedure, authorities recovered the stolen items and seized the bladed weapon used in the robbery. The recovered goods were placed at the disposal of authorities for return to the victim.
Alias ‘Rayo’ was handed over to competent authorities, facing charges for qualified and aggravated theft. Preliminary hearings are expected in the coming hours to determine his judicial status.
