Alleged affair of Gowa Regent revealed in special council hearing

Allegations of an affair between Gowa Regent Sitti Husniah Talenrang and her political consultant Basri Kajang emerged during a special committee hearing of the Gowa Regency DPRD on June 24, 2026.

During the hearing, the regent's husband Khaerul Aco testified that he had long known about the alleged illicit relationship between his wife and Muhammad Basri alias Basri Kajang.

Former regional inspectorate inspector Muhammad Agus Salim Harahap recounted that Basri Kajang once directly admitted that Husniah Talenrang was his girlfriend while they were at a vehicle repair shop.

Former driver Wahyu Akbar also testified that he was frequently ordered to monitor Basri Kajang's whereabouts almost daily, including at night, and had been terrorized by Basri's wife named Sofie.
