Apple has reactivated its Detailed City Experience in the Maps app for the Formula One race in Monaco. The feature runs during the Grand Prix scheduled for June 5 to 7. It provides a detailed view of the track and surrounding area.
The company first created the Monaco overlay for the 2025 race and has updated it this year. The track now appears in dark gray rather than light red. Race cars shown along the course match the colors of this year's teams, though their positions do not reflect real standings. Detailed 3D models include landmarks such as the Casino de Monte-Carlo and Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo. These renderings include both daytime and nighttime lighting. The feature also displays turn markers, grandstands, pit garages, and the finish line. Apple has applied similar overlays to other street circuits including Las Vegas, Melbourne, Montreal, and Miami. The Monaco map adds road markings and bike lanes along with real-time details on road closures and facilities. Apple TV serves as the United States broadcaster for the series.
