The Huila Police Department reported that last night, in the area of the viaduct connecting the municipalities of Garzón and El Agrado, a couple lost their lives in an armed attack. Four people traveling in a vehicle were intercepted by unknown individuals who attacked them indiscriminately. The deceased were identified as Ovier Martínez Vargas, 51 years old, and Yineth Sotto Sánchez, 40 years old, both from the Caquetá department.
Of the four victims, two managed to escape the scene. One of them alerted the authorities, while the third apparently jumped from the bridge into the El Quimbo reservoir, and his whereabouts remain unknown. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motives of the double homicide and clarify the exact circumstances of the attack.
