AXA announced a US$1.14 million investment to fund three projects in Colombia focused on the prevention, detection and response to violence against children and adolescents.
The funds are part of a global program by the Fundación AXA para el Progreso Humano that will allocate US$11.4 million across several countries. Following an initial call in France, Spain and Colombia, 13 projects were selected in total, three of which belong to Colombian entities: the foundations Universidad del Norte, Los Pisingos and Fana. The resources will support training programs in public schools, the creation of an Integral Child Support Center and strategies to prevent intrafamily violence. Thomas Buberl, chief executive of AXA Group, stated: “Violence against children is a silent emergency that we can no longer afford to ignore”. Alexandra Quiroga, general manager of AXA Colpatria, noted that the company’s performance allows it to expand social impact investments in Colombia. The firm plans to increase its investments by 12% over the next four years, with a 36% rise in 2026 compared to 2025.
