Bernard Arnault responds to Le Monde investigation on LVMH

LVMH chief Bernard Arnault published a three-page letter on X on Sunday evening to criticize a series of articles by Le Monde on his empire.

In the letter, Bernard Arnault denounces what he calls the heavy artillery deployed by the daily newspaper. He mocks the portrait that presents him as head of the last royal family of France.

“It seems that I am the head of ‘the last royal family of France’. I learned it by reading Le Monde, between two cups of tea,” he writes. His family holds more than 50 percent of LVMH’s capital.

Arnault, who does not follow the never explain never complain approach, chose to respond publicly rather than ignore the series of six articles published this week.
