Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated 551 Saraswati Vidya Niketan schools in Begusarai on Sunday. The decision to paint the schools saffron has drawn concerns from JD(U).
The Bihar government has decided to paint all 551 Model Schools in the state saffron. The Opposition has called it the beginning of the saffronisation of education. The BJP said the choice of colour is not political but represents energy and positivity.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the schools at an event in Begusarai on Sunday. He said, “We have heralded a new age in education by inaugurating 551 Saraswati Vidya Niketan from Begusarai, the land of poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.” The schools will feature modern digital infrastructure, e-libraries and smart classrooms.
The schools, renamed Saraswati Vidya Niketan for classes 9 to 12, will also provide free JEE and NEET coaching. JD(U) has raised concerns over the colour scheme, indicating disagreement within the NDA alliance.
