Chadwick Boseman’s brothers have taken their late sibling’s widow to a Los Angeles court, alleging she still holds total control over his estate nearly six years after his death. The July 22 filing seeks her removal and the appointment of a professional fiduciary.
Kevin and Derrick Boseman claim Taylor Simone Ledward has not distributed assets despite a 2022 Final Order that gave their parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman, 25 percent each of the estate. They allege she continues to profit from Chadwick’s image and intellectual property rights while blocking family input on business opportunities.
The brothers point to undisbursed items including a $40,000 long-term care policy for Carolyn, SAG-AFTRA residuals from 2020 onward, an undisclosed CNB bank account and other royalties. They say the lack of transparency creates the appearance of concealed assets and has left their elderly parents without closure or funds.
The petition asks the court to hold Ledward in contempt, require a full accounting within 30 days and permanently replace her with private fiduciary Jason Rubin. It also requests she be barred from signing major contracts without family approval. The court has not yet ruled on the filing.
