Charles Berglund has highlighted uncertainties facing several young players in Luleå's roster ahead of the new season. The former sport chief and coach noted that not all will secure regular playing time.
Luleå enters the upcoming campaign with a largely settled roster. Goalkeepers Ward and Lassinantti remain, while the defence has seen changes including the departure of Frédéric Allard.
Berglund focused on the club's group of prospects born in 2007 and earlier. Isac Hedqvist recorded 20 points in 49 games last season. Casper Juustovaara Karlsson posted 6 points in 31 appearances and could enter the NHL draft this month.
Other names mentioned include William Håkansson, Oliwer Sjöström, David Granberg and Jakob Ihs-Wozniak. Berglund stressed the importance of loans to lower divisions for development, drawing on his own experience at Timrå.
He added that NHL teams may select players after 15 June, leaving some SHL prospects with limited options if they remain unsigned.
