NHL forward Carl Grundström remains without a contract ahead of the upcoming season. The 28-year-old World Championship player has expressed interest in staying in North America while keeping Björklöven as a potential option.
Grundström, who has played in the NHL since 2018, told Västerbottens-Kuriren that he is monitoring developments ahead of the free agent market opening on July 1.
"We will see what happens, I actually do not know anything yet," Grundström said. "A lot has happened with trades in the NHL lately and there could be even more during the draft this weekend, so you just have to wait and see."
He confirmed discussions with Björklöven sport chief Per Kenttä. Kenttä said the club has been in contact with the forward but is also evaluating other players seeking NHL contracts.
Grundström noted that remaining in the NHL is his top priority, though he described a return to his former club as interesting following their promotion to the SHL.
