Former Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch anticipates a significant improvement in the connection between Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf during their second season together. The comments come ahead of the 2026 campaign following a mixed debut year for the pairing.
Batch made the remarks on his Snap Count podcast. He noted that Rodgers' long experience in the system and the opportunity to review film together should help both players build on their strengths.
Metcalf recorded 850 receiving yards and 59 receptions in 2025, his lowest single-season totals. He scored in four of the first five games and delivered an 80-yard touchdown in Dublin, but faced challenges from quick releases and defensive attention.
The Steelers added Michael Pittman Jr. and Germie Bernard this offseason to ease pressure on Metcalf. Batch believes the added talent and another year of work will lead to better results.
