The High Court has stopped author Patu Santoo ole Naikumi from preparing or publishing the biography of the late former minister William Ronkorua ole Ntimama until the ownership case is heard.
The High Court issued the ruling after the late Ntimama's children, Lydia Ntimama and Amos Ntimama, filed a case. The two are administrators of their father's estate and claim the publishing rights. The family said Ntimama had instructed Maasai Mara University to write his autobiography several years before his death in 2016. After his death they involved Mr Naikumi but claimed he failed to complete the work and later demanded Sh1 million plus 20 percent of sales revenue. Mr Naikumi denied the claims and said he conducted his own research and that the project stalled due to lack of funds and support from the family. The court said the family would suffer substantial irreparable loss if publication proceeded.
