Former Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo has shared his experiences from attending the Indianapolis 500 for the first time, describing the event as emotional and reminiscent of his childhood.
Ricciardo, an eight-time Grand Prix winner, traveled to the 110th running of the Indy 500 to support his longtime friend Conor Daly. The pair have known each other for nearly 15 years and collaborated on a special Enchanté 500 merchandise line.
In a newsletter to fans, Ricciardo wrote about enjoying his new role as a Ford Racing ambassador and focusing on his clothing brand Enchanté. He noted the shift from racing to business, saying he is loving the change of pace.
Reflecting on the weekend, Ricciardo highlighted the community atmosphere and the emotional moments on the grid. He quoted Daly on embracing the full experience of the race rather than blocking out distractions.
The Australian added that watching as a fan brought back childhood feelings and memories, calling the overall event special and hard to put into words.
