This comes after the first round of voting, where Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another" topped the longlist with a record 16 nods since the category's introduction in 2021. Close behind are "Hamnet" and "Sinners," each securing 14 slots, followed by "Marty Supreme" with 13, and "Bugonia" and "Frankenstein" with 12 apiece. The second round of voting concludes on January 20, building anticipation for the full nominee list.
Both hosts have strong ties to BAFTA. Aimee Lou Wood earned the TV award for best female comedy performance for her role in Netflix's "Sex Education." She was nominated for the Rising Star Award in 2023 and is currently filming Sam Mendes' four-part Beatles biopic. David Jonsson, the 2025 Rising Star winner, gained acclaim for "Alien: Romulus" and "Rye Lane." His recent projects include "The Long Walk" and "Wasteman," the latter on the longlist for outstanding debut by a British writer, director, or producer. He is set to portray Sammy Davis Jr. in "Scandalous!," directed by Colman Domingo.
The Rising Star nominees, already announced, include Chase Infiniti for "One Battle After Another," Miles Caton for "Sinners," Archie Madekwe for "Lurker," Robert Aramayo for "I Swear," and Posy Sterling for "Lollipop."
The main ceremony will occur on February 22 at London's Royal Festival Hall.
